Description : The National Gallery of Greece owns a large and diverse collection of plaster sculptures and casts by the most important Greek sculptors of the twentieth century. They includes works by Yannoulis Chalepas,Thanasis Apartis, Lazaros Sohos, Vasos Falireas, Christos Kapralos and also Froso Eftimiadi-Menegaki & Bella Raftopoulou studios. The Gallery also hosts the collection of the sculptor Kostas Dimitriadis that mainly consists of work in plaster. The memorial casts form the second most important group of works inn plaster, made in 1980 from marble sculptures in the First Cemetery in Athens. In July 2004 the two buildings of the former royal stables in the Alsos Stratou in Goudi were inaugurated. These buildings house from now on the first National Glyptotheque of Greece, which functions as an annex of the National Gallery.
